Jade Foster graduated from BA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of Derby in 2017 with a First Class.  During her undergraduate degree she also attended the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart in Germany.

 

She is an Independent Curator-Producer and multi-disciplinary artist exploring mainly Sound, Photography and Performance. Even though at the beginning of her career, she has worked with cultural institutions across the UK including QUAD, Derby Museums and Battersea Arts Centre in London. 

As a Young Curator she participated in 'The Open Project' (TOP)- co-curating the exhibition Still Life at mac birmingham in 2013. 

Her recent work as an Artist has been shown in Stand Up!, ArtCore, Derby (2018), If your going to heal, let it be glorious, Black Blossoms Tour, The Royal Standard Gallery, Liverpool (2017), You must disagree with authority figures - Politics & Protest Artist Lab, ARTIST ROOMS: Jenny Holzer at mac birmingham (2017) and Ellipsis, The Big Show, Derby (2017).

JENNIFER BIRCH

I am a UK multi-disciplinary artist working in painting, sculpture, film, and photography. I graduated from the University of Derby with a first-class honours degree in BA Fine Art in 2017. With a passion for contemporary art's I facilitate and curate exhibition and events as an independent creative producer.

 

As Co-founder and Director of Divine Locale, I have a mission to platform graduate and emerging artists in the initial stages of their career(s). I am currently interested in the place of activism within the arts, this fuels both my curatorial mission and my practice creating a research project which highlight’s the generational subsections of the ‘feminine state’ and the societal expectations of these roles.

 

I have recently exhibited film work such as ‘3:33am’ and ‘The reflection of an alternative state’ which have been shown at the first edition of Divine Locale Contemporary Arts Festival: FLUCTU-8 2017, ‘Exhibition’ Vacuum Arts 2017, 'Ellipsis' The Big Show, Derby 2017 and ‘Interventions’, Derby Museum and Gallery 2016 and ‘Archive 32’, Riverlights 2016

NATHAN WALKER

Born in Grimsby Town, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom.

 

Nathan Walker, is a British multidisciplinary artist who is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

 

Upon completing his BA (Honours) Fine Art Degree at University of Derby, United Kingdom, Nathan is currently pursuing the 'MFA Fine Art' qualification at Ulster University, United Kingdom.  

 

Alongside his educational studies, he works collaboratively with artists, designers and local communities through Beat Carnival School of Art, Belfast.

 

Nathan works with sculpture, painting, drawing and photography, closely working with colour and texture. He is currently researching the aesthetics of beauty in western culture, challenging social norms and investigating individualism through sculpture

TAMARA MELLON

Tamara Mellon’s practice is focused on film and photography. Living and working in Derby, Tamara reflects on the behaviour and mannerisms society has developed considering the digital age by providing a feminine perspective on how these circumstances affect the women of today.

As a recent University of Derby graduate, Tamara has been involved in a number of exhibitions and residencies, which have included working with Derby Museum & Art Gallery and ArtCore England. She has also worked with other festivals across the city including UK Young Artists and Divine Locale.  

One of her most recent pieces, Female Nude (Reinvented), was displayed at ArtCore as part of an exhibition celebrating International Women’s Day.
